The acting career of Reese Witherspoon began to grow when she enrolled at Stanford University. The first time she was recognized for her work, it was with roles in films such as Pleasantville and Election but it was her role as Elle Woods in the box office hit Legally Blonde that marked a significant turning point in her professional career.
