Aaliyah Haughton made headlines after 1994 when she debuted her debut album Age Ain't nothing but the number. At the age of 15, the album achieved Gold standing. The collaboration was strongly influenced by R. Kelly, and made her a star on the map. In 1996, she collaborated alongside Jermaine Dupri and Timbaland for her second album One In A Million which featured the hit number one single If Your Girl Could Only Know. Aaliyah achieved international recognition for her R&B singing on the album. She was a part of martial arts legend Jet Li in the romance-action film Romeo Must Die. Joel Silver, the film producer, saw her during a awards ceremony and offered the role. In 2002 she was in the vampire film Queen of the Damned based on the Anne Rice book. The actress is the first Indian American to be from Connecticut. Mann is her stage name. Mann is derived from her marriage name Mankad. She uses Aarti Mann and Aarti Majumdar for her professional name. Her acting career started in the the mid 2000's, with a few roles on TV and films. The actress has also been featured in Leverage, Suits, Grey's Anatomy as well as Grey's Anatomy. Her commercials have featured big brands, like Volvo. She is a resident of Los Angeles where she continues to perform as an actress.
