Jeanie Marie Buss (born Jeanie Marie Buss) is a famous American woman who is a businesswoman. She is the owner and the president of the Los Angeles Lakers National Basketball Association. The California born Buss was raised in an affluent family. Jerry Buss' father was an entrepreneur in real estate who later owned the Lakers and several other companies in the field of sports. Her parents parted ways in 1972 which made her feel that she was emotionally left behind. At the age 19 she was appointed the general manager of Los Angeles Strings, a professional tennis team. In the following years, she created the Los Angeles Blades roller hockey professional team. She was the the president for Great Western Forum prior to becoming the vice-president of Lakers. Buss, her five sisters and brothers, as well as their father, who owned the Lakers and was their controlling shareholder up to his death in 2013, took over this ownership through the trust. The five siblings were entitled to equal voting rights. Buss assumed the position of the president for Los Angeles Lakers. Los Angeles Lakers.
